2nd International Congress of Sports Physiotherapy by Piaget
Sports physiotherapy is one of the most widely recognized areas of physiotherapy. As an allied health profession, it currently explores issues related to health promotion, injury prevention, and rehabilitation in both athletic and non-athletic active populations of all ages, genders, and backgrounds.
The International Congress of Sports Physiotherapy by Piaget aspires to become a landmark event for sports physiotherapists worldwide, offering high-quality resources that bridge academic excellence and clinical expertise.
The second edition will address highly relevant topics in exercise science and sports medicine, with applied and transferable knowledge tailored to the context of sports physiotherapy.
This edition will feature speakers from around the world – the first with in-person attendance. From leading sports physiotherapy experts working with UEFA or International Olympic Committees to Portuguese physiotherapists working abroad with renowned international athletes, a well-deserved space will be given to stakeholders who share decision-making processes with sports physiotherapists.
Objectives
- Promote the scientific and technical advancement of sports physiotherapy by sharing up-to-date knowledge and evidence-based best practices with direct clinical applicability..
- Encourage the internationalization of sports physiotherapy by building a network of national and international professionals and fostering collaboration between academia and clinical practice..
- Emphasize the role of key stakeholders in decision-making by incorporating diverse perspectives — including clubs, athletes, coaches, and medical professionals — into discussions on the future of sports physiotherapy.
- Establish guidelines and standardized practices for sports physiotherapy interventions, contributing to the development of effective and safe clinical approaches at both national and international levels.
